Meeting with Olivia was really helpful in making my ideas clear and concise in my Essay. In the conference, after reading my essay, we focused mostly on my first two paragraphs. In my introduction paragraph, I didn’t have a defined “perspective” sentence so we noted that I should add that to make my argument more clear. Then in my second paragraph, we talked about the best way to introduce the concept of a growth mindset in a way that effectively flowed into my idea of how avoidance is one outcome when we have a fixed mindset. After rereading the paragraph I realized that the quote I used wasn’t the best one for my point, so I changed it and cut down other unnecessary information. Although we didn’t make too many more changes after that in the meeting, I used the feedback I received on those paragraphs to review if they applied to my other ones and this was very helpful because I found some more places where I could be more effective with my quotes and more direct by reducing unnecessary information.
